"The NORD-42 is an OEM version of the NORD-12 system. It was manufactured for Noratom-Norcontrol A/S."

So the NORD-42 is not a separate design; it is a rebadged NORD-12 built for one customer. That customer matters: Norcontrol is the same company that took the very first NORD-1, serial 2, for the anti-collision system on M/S Taimyr.

Norcontrol used it as the central processor in their DATABRIDGE system, and it also went into ship simulators at maritime schools in Norway and abroad, including China and Mexico.

Its three cited sources are all outside our reach: a Norcontrol SERVICE HANDBOOK, a chapter of Handbuch fuer die Schiffsfuehrung, and page 16 of Ingenioeren number 45, November 1980.
