The 56 original detailed analysis files that were aggregated into HDLC-ALL.md and then reorganized into the new structure. These represent the complete analysis history. (This README used to say 53; the folder holds 56, counted 2026-09-18.)

What is no longer here

This README used to describe two more things. Both were deleted from the repository and are listed here only so nobody goes looking for them:

  • original-consolidated/ - the 6 original consolidated documents (01-HDLC through 06-HDLC). Their content lives on in the new structure:
    • 01-HDLC-Hardware-Reference.md → now in learning/03-Hardware-Overview.md
    • 02-HDLC-Register-Reference.md → now in reference/Register-Reference.md
    • 03-HDLC-DMA-Operations.md → now in reference/DMA-Reference.md
    • 04-HDLC-Interrupt-Handlers.md → now in reference/Interrupt-Reference.md
    • 05-HDLC-Protocol-Implementation.md → now in reference/Protocol-Reference.md
    • 06-HDLC-Emulator-Guide.md → now in implementation/Emulator-Implementation-Guide.md
  • CONSOLIDATION-PLAN.md and MERMAID-COMPLIANCE-NOTE.md - the consolidation planning document and the Mermaid diagram compliance notes.

Purpose

These files represent the complete analysis and documentation evolution history and are preserved for: - Historical reference - Verification of current documentation - Understanding the evolution of discoveries - Backup/recovery if needed
