The short version¶
One of the ND-5000 models. On this line the model number is largely a configuration, not a different design: the CPU type, the master clock setting and which caches are enabled are what separate one model from the next. The top single-processor model, about twice the ND-570/CX. On ND's own competitor table a single ND-5800 sits level with a VAX-8550, 8650 or 8700, and below a VAX-8800.
