350B ReadWriteSegment

Not registered   MON 350B (232 decimal) · Mnemonic RWSEG · Group: Not grouped in manual

Available from: not known - no compatibility box captured from the manual

Emulation source: none - not registered in ndmonlib

Description

Read or write a single location on a segment or in physical memory. A parameter list (pointed to by the A-register) selects read/write, the segment or memory bank, the address within it, and the value to write. Restricted to background programs running on user SYSTEM. Introduced in the L-version. Primarily a debugging aid.

Notes

  • NEW in the L-version (ND-860230-6-EN section 3.2.2). Also made available for ND-500 programs (section 10.7.3, MON RWSEG is available for ND-500 programs).
  • ND-100 register convention: A = address of the 4-word parameter list PARLI. PARLI = FUNC, SGBNK, ADDR, VALUE.
  • FUNC: 0 = read, 1 = write. Bit 17B set = operate on physical memory; otherwise operate on a segment. (Bit 17B is octal bit position 17, i.e. bit 15.)
  • SGBNK = segment number (segment mode) or memory bank number (physical mode). ADDR = address within the segment or bank. VALUE = value to write when FUNC = 1; on a read (FUNC = 0) the value read is returned in VALUE.
  • Rules: only available for background programs running on user SYSTEM.

Parameters

Name Type Direction Description
ParamListAddr INTEGER In Address of the 4-word parameter list PARLI (FUNC, SGBNK, ADDR, VALUE), loaded into the A-register before MON 350.
FUNC INTEGER In Function word (PARLI word 1). 0 = read, 1 = write. Bit 17B set = physical memory; otherwise segment.
SGBNK INTEGER In Segment number (segment mode) or memory bank number (physical-memory mode) (PARLI word 2).
ADDR INTEGER In Address within the segment or bank (PARLI word 3).
VALUE INTEGER I/O Value to write when FUNC = 1; value read is returned here when FUNC = 0 (PARLI word 4).

Direction: In = the program supplies the value, Out = the call returns it, In/Out = both.
