INTRODUCTION

The Archive Output Module output articles to a Sintran file in a format suitable for input to the ND-10152 NOTIS-IR Archive system.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Archive Output module will allow conversion of characters on output, including multicode conversion. This means that all typographical codes will be stripped from articles before they are stored in the NOTIS-IR Archive system.

Documents stored in NOTIS-IR are retrieved by means of search-keys. These keys are defined in a FORM by the user.

The Archive Output module uses information from the article records to prepare articles for input to predefined forms in the NOTIS-IR. The names of the key-fields used in the forms are fixed and must be:

  • *HP
  • *UP1
  • *UP2
  • *PAGE
  • *DATE
  • *TITLE
An article stored under the main-product WIRE-
SERVICE, sub-product AP SPORTS, placed on page 4
on the date 851217 and with a title FOOTBALL may get
a form in NOTIS-IR like this:

Note that when making the forms in NOTIS-IR one
would have to store the form with key-field names: HP,
UP1, UP2, DATE and TITLE. But when making the
screen-layout, you may give these fields any name.
