450 MB 9” FIXED STORAGE DRIVE¶

Introduction¶

The ND 110099 Fixed Storage Drive is a sealed-module, 9-inch rigid disk drive that uses manganese-zinc read/write heads and plated media. It consists of drive electronics with SMD interface, cooling fans and a detachable power supply that accepts 50 or 60 Hz AC power. For greater rigidity and read/write accuracy, the ND 110099 has a spindle that is supported in both ends. The disk drive provides 450 Mb of formatted capacity.

Features¶

15 milliseconds average seek time
Automatic Carriage and Spindle Lock
UL, CSA, VDE safety requirements
Fixed or variable sectoring
Rack mountable
Low maintenance cost
High MTBF
Selectable address
Detachable Universal Power Supply

Product Description¶

The ND 110099 consists of six disks in a sealed module, a DC servo-controlled spindle motor, an air filter, and a rotary voice coil actuator. Fans, which are included within the cover, channel cooling air past the sealed module, power supply and electronics.

The electronics package consists of three printed circuit boards that provide read/write electronics, logic and servo control, spindle control, and controller interface and communications control.

Prerequisites¶

ND 106320 15 MHz disk controller
A Filestore cabinet, large or compact type for mounting of the disk drive.
