ND 845 Terminal Switch Panel¶

FEATURES¶

The ND 845 is a free-standing unit which provides facilities for:

Transferring terminal devices from one CPU to another
Individual transfer of each device
Combined transfer of the total number of devices
24 individual, four-wire, connections (ex. Current-loop)
8 individual, sixteen-wire, connections (ex. RS-232 or Modem)
Direct connection to 2 separate CPU's
Direct connection to one or more ND 849, Terminal Cross Coupler
Easy operation from the integrated control panel
Defined switches for each device on the control panel
Defined plug panel for all external cables
No power consumption
No maintenance

System Configuration¶

The Terminal Switch Panel is connected to two CPU's by standard cables.

It is recommended that the Terminal Switch Panel should be connected to an ND Cross Coupler, also by standard cables, then to the devices.

Front and backpanel are removable.

Top panel, identical to the control panel, where all the switches are located, is self-documented.

It is possible to remove the control panel after the switch knobs are dismantled.

All switches are fixed and mounted to printed circuit boards, beneath the control panel.

The printed circuit boards are mounted to the rack.

A special purpose plug panel is designed for this unit. This panel, mounted at the rear side of the cabinet, holds all plugs needed for connection.
