310/630 MB SCSI FIXED DISK DRIVE¶
Introduction¶
ND 110326 and ND 110325 disk drives are sealed-module, 8-inch rigid disk drives that provide 310 and 630 MB of formatted storage capacity. These disk drives are based on the SCSI standard and include an embedded SCSI controller.
As a complete backup solution, these disk drives may be installed together with a magtape drive in a new configuration of the Filestore system. This system provides housing for up to six disk drives and a magtape drive.
Features¶
- Based on the SCSI standard
- Embedded SCSI controller with 43 KB buffer
- Asynchronous 1.5 MB/sec. sustained transfer rate
- Concurrent host/disk data transfers
- 48-bit ECC corrects up to 11-bit single-burst errors
- Up to seven drives per SCSI adaptor
- 16 milliseconds average seek time
- Thin-film heads
- Low noise level
- High MTBF
- UL, CSA, VDE standards
- FCC Class A verified
- Can be mounted on Filestore rack
Product Description¶
The ND 110326 and ND 110325 disk drives consist of nine disks contained in a sealed module together with thin-film heads and an actuator. An SCSI controller is embedded in these drives.
The drives are connected to the CPU system through an SCSI adaptor residing in the system. Each SCSI adaptor can connect up to seven disk drives. The distance between the disk drive and the adaptor may be up to 25 meters.
These disk drives provide 16 ms average seek time and 1.5 MB/second data transfer rate.
The ND 110326 and ND 110325 disk drives are designed and constructed for high reliability. The MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) for these disk drives is 30,000 hours based on a 24-hour-a-day operation. Further, these drives are built to resist shock, vibration and power failure.
