INTRODUCTION¶

The ND 431 band printer offers a wide variety of easily interchanged, horizontal moving character sets. The ND 431 prints 64 characters at 600 lpm.

The ND 431 also offers optionally increased print density as a source for significant savings in paper costs. Standard density is 10 cpi. The economical option is 15.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION¶

Operator Controls and Adjustments¶

To make operation of the printer as easy as possible, the number of controls and adjustments has been kept to a minimum. Two pushbuttons, (START/STOP and FORM FEED) are located on the top front of the cabinet adjacent to the window. Pressing START resets all logic circuits, enabling printing to start when data is received. Pressing STOP interrupts printing.

Print Mechanism¶

Each print hammer is activated by its magnetic actuator through a push rod. This rod enables the actuators to be spread farther from each other to isolate them mechanically and magnetically. Since the rod also enables only the hammers themselves to be shifted for sharing, a relatively low force is required to shift the hammers between positions. This force is obtained from a servo.
