ND Image Scanner¶
Used in conjunction with Norsk Data's Computer Aided Publishing (CAP) products NOTIS-PET and NOTIS-PRO, the ND Image Scanner will give your documents a distinctly professional appearance by enabling you to transform images into graphics files simply and inexpensively.
As soon as an image has been transformed, it can be manipulated exactly like any other graphical image: modified and printed out directly or included in a CAP text document for further manipulation. The scanner can transform graphical images into multiple storage formats, including the TIF format which the ND CAP products require. The pictures scanned in can also be further manipulated in other standard graphical editing programs like PC-Paintbrush® and MS-Paint®.
The scanner distinguishes between 16 different levels of grey. A flat design makes it easy to feed single sheets, photos, bound volumes etc.

An original illustration is scanned into a document produced by NOTIS-PET or NOTIS-PRO using the ND Image Scanner.

ND Image Scanner¶
Optional Resolution¶
It takes only 20 seconds to scan in a full page with a resolution of 300 dpi and store the data on a hard-disk. Resolutions from 38 to 300 dpi are software-selectable.
With the ND Image Scanner it is also possible to enlarge or reduce the images to tailor them to a specific document. A picture may be reduced as far down as to 19% or enlarged to a maximum of 300% of the original (with a 300-point resolution).
Software¶
A simple program to control the scanner, the Hewlett-Packard Scanning Gallery, is delivered with the ND Image Scanner, increasing the user-friendliness of the product. The program runs under MS-Windows®.
Powerful Interface Card¶
The ND Image Scanner has a two-way Centronics interface card with hardware that enables data to be moved rapidly from the scanner to the computer for manipulation and storage.
