Introduction

It is a well-known fact that the quality of the power feeding a data machine system is of essential significance for its operation.

In addition to normal variations in power output, the increasing number of power consumers using thyristors and similar noise-producing equipment increases the problems. Difficulties may also arise from connections and disconnections to the high voltage lines, as well as from lightning.

Norsk Data has introduced completely new power distribution systems, which continually monitor the power lines and suppress as much as 95% of all disturbances which may arise there.

Product Description

In order to improve the quality of the voltage, Norsk Data's new systems reduce noise levels to a minimum. It is now possible to obtain almost perfect three-phase voltage, containing a minimum of disturbances.

The systems use a special type of isolation transformer, combined with a metal oxide varistor. Even extreme overvoltages are reduced to non-dangerous levels.

ND 872/874/876 also allow for automatic reconnection after a power disruption. In addition, the systems also monitor the data room environment and grounding problems.
